[WHO Collaborating Centre for the Family of International Classifications in Japan]
WHO Collaborating Centres (WHO CCs) are research institutes, parts of universities or academies, or other institutions that are designated by WHO Director-General to carry out activities in support of WHO’s programmes. There are currently over 800 WHO Collaborating Centres in over 80 WHO Member States working with WHO on areas such as nursing, occupational health, communicable diseases, nutrition, mental health, chronic diseases and health technologies (

In Japan, International Classification and Information Management Office to the Director-General for Statistics, Information System Management and Industrial Relations, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare has been designated by the WHO Regional Director for the Western Pacific as the WHO Collaborating Centre for the Family of International Classifications. The Centre fulfills its role through the “Collaborative Network of the WHO Collaborating Centre for the Family of International Classifications in Japan,” which has been organized with the cooperation of the related organizations shown below.
